Currently floating up and down in the Triple J Uneathed charts [www.unearthed.com/hybridize], hanging in there well in the Reverbnation charts [http://www.reverbnation.com/hybridizemetal]
Look out for "Full Doom" a monthly metal gig in Lismore featuring Hybridize and various local metal/punk/rock bands.

Hybridize aren't your typical clumsy progressive metal (which seems to dominate the scene around here). These guys are real musicians, playing music with rhythm and groove.
Essentially their music is probably best described as old school heavy rock/metal, but there is more to it than that. Dez, the guitarist was inspired by techno music for his guitar sound, which give him a unique sound all of his own. The singer has a variety of vocal styles, before he starts he seems nice and friendly, but when Phil starts singing, he's just scary. The drummer, Quinno, the biggest metalhead of them all, has a catch phrase "death" which seems to mean "excellent", Quinno plays, hard loud and flawlessly and is always impressive. Which leaves Andrew the crazy bass player man who really knows how to play the sh*t out of a bass guitar, he is fast and tight and can be as scary as Phil when he starts doing backing vocals.
"We have been practicing hard for some time now and the results are starting to show. We feel comfortable where the music takes us... usually too a heavy and groovy place," says Phil. "Now we have a demo, the plan is to spread the music to a few more people."
