Extreme metal chaos from Brisbane, Defiled was originally a black metal band in the classic Norwegian style, somewhat ham-fisted but apparently improved considerably. Early shows often consisted of Norman and Michael cutting themselves up with "whatever was around", making their live shows a blood drenched reality. They then took a turn towards a more powerful and impressive death metal assault. Defiled split up after the Overcranked festival in June 2002 but then briefly reformed in 2003.
