Christ Art Museum's first EP was a striking volume with similarities to Alice in Chains. In several years of touring the band supported Creed and the Deftones and notable local artists such as Horsehead, Nitocris and Superheist. Lanz rejoined the band in 1997 but left again after the recording of “New Boy”. Christ Art Museum replaced him with Martin Carr but split shortly afterwards, with Green joining iOTA's live band and Smith forming Bobsledge.
